The Sun City Gardens have expanded to a 6+ acre plot located at 141 Sun City Boulevard near the softball field and dog park. Horticulture Club members have volunteered many hours to build a barn for storage of garden tools and supplies and a new large greenhouse.
The gardens now include over 260 raised garden beds measuring 5 feet x 24 feet. All beds have water provided by an onsite deep water well and the entire garden is fenced to keep out deer.
In their eighth year, the Horticulture Club now has over 400 members and the club funds its activities through plant sales and garage sale efforts.

The Love of Gardening Can Continue
Moving to Sun City Texas doesn't mean you have to give up your love of gardening. The Sun City Horticulture Club is an active group dedicated to organic gardening. The Club has a 6+ acre Community Garden located at 141 Sun City Blvd. near the softball field and dog park. As you drive out of Sun City towards SH195, look for the windmill on your left.
The area has been leveled, fenced and has over 260 raised garden beds measuring 5 ft. x 24 ft. The beds are used by Club members for raising produce and flowers free of deer. All beds have water provided by an onsite deep water well. At monthly meetings we have informative programs on gardening and related subjects. We also have many social events during the year.
Members include several Master Gardeners and others with many areas of expertise; all share their knowledge with the Club and the community. There are many opportunities for club members to learn and participate in herb gardening, the orchard, the vineyard, and maintaining the property.
We have seasonal sales of vegetable, herb, perennial and annual plants to Sun City residents as a fund raiser. Organic products such as compost and compost tea are for sale almost year-round on Saturday mornings.
